Taking that challenge !!

ASA Open Water Coaching Assessment.

This weekend we saw a number of new coaches being assessed for the new ASA Open Water Coaching Qualification. It is never easy signing up for an assessment process, testing your knowledge and understanding in a subject area.

However this weekend we saw 9 new ASA coaches attended the assessement day at Active Blu's venue in Windermere.  It was fantastic to see so many enthusiastic coaches, passionate about improving their knowledge, performance and practising their skills, drills and coaching styles in Windermere.

The coaches were assessed over the day in a number of areas:

Theory and demonstrations: The coaches identified and correctly demonstrated the drills and skills needed to coach in the open water.

Progressive practice: The coaches developed and delivered progressive coaching sessions to develop, enhance and monitor the swimmers progression.

Practical coaching session: Demonstrating their coaching skills and communication methods with a group of swimmers.

Check out the NEW ASA qualification.

I wanted to use this opportunity to thank everyone involved and congratulate the coaches and the swimmers that took part in the day. The swimmers and coaches alike really challenged themselves, I really enjoyed seeing the progress people were making over the day.

If you are interested in whats involved please feel free to email me at emma@activeblu.co.uk.

Thank you to all the swimmers that helped us out on the day and hope you enjoyed yourself and picked up some top tips.

See you all soon.

Emma
