Summer reflections and Winter Dipping

What a summer, although we had lots to think about with all the NEW rules and regulations, I am delighted we managed to meet so many people over the summer months.

Active Blu managed to run some coach development days for clubs, open water camps, squads, group clinics and 121 sessions for the last few months of the season.

If you have been coached by myself you know I am super passionate about getting people active and dreaming about what could be possible in their lives. I always love to hear about the goals and ambitions individuals and groups have.

This year despite the situation with COVID, I was always totally blown away by the people attitudes and commitment to things. Their passion, creativity and innovative ideas to continue to do what they love and offers them well being and peace of mind.

I also listened a lot to people about how hard times have been for individuals, families and businesses. Its certainly tough for people out there.....so if I may offer any words to others, I would say listen deeply to others, ask lots of questions, watch and observe, be kind even if others may not be. If we have a bit of time, do give it, say hi, send a smile, write a letter....basically if we can offer someone a gift, give them your time and in fact if you want some support do ask.

With the above in mind, I would love to hear about your summer, what you have been up to, the goals you have for the future, the plans you may be making, small or big, local or further afield. Please keep me posted as I am always interested.

So what I can offer as a small business is to keep creating ideas for you to connect with others. Create a community to learn in, have fun, keep moving and keep connected.

Going into winter....

We have our pool squads starting, our 121 sport and business mentoring, pool video analysis and NEW this year is our Winter Dipping group and 121 cold water swims.

Winter Dipping

With winter on its way and those dark evenings drawing in, we are excited to offer a 5 week course introducing people to cold water dipping. Winter dippers will be a set of 5 week courses, continuing over the winter period, for anyone wishing to keep swimming through the winter.

The aim of the course is to enjoy the changing of the seasons, swim together in a group, meet like minded people. It will allow people to do as they wish, as the sessions are not structured. You can dip for as long or as little as you want, take a float, take in the views. It can be for social reasons, supporting your own well being, giving you a little time back in a busy world or simply to connect with nature.

The course will cover safety in cold water, preparing to enter and mindfulness whilst in the water as well as top tips for warming up gradually post dip. We have a full safety team, in a private venue where we hope to experience all the beautiful opportunities open water can offer in the morning.

If you are interested in the course through the winter, please check out the link. I look forward to seeing you soon. http://www.activeblu.co.uk/winter-dippers/

Video Analysis

For those wishing to keep a bit warmer and work on developing your swimming, we are delighted to have started video analysis sessions again at 315 Health Club, Lancaster.

If you are keen to get some top tips and ideas on how to improve your stroke, please book in for a video analysis session to get a world class view on your stroke. Ideas on improving and some simple drills to follow to help develop over the winter period. http://www.activeblu.co.uk/video-analysis-2/

I look forward to seeing you again soon.

Keep well and keep me posted with how have you been and what you are up too.?
