Open Water Swimming - Feel the freedom, enjoy the feeling, take the plunge.

GETTING BACK TO WHAT WE LOVE...

Ok hands up, who has missed the feeling of the water running over their skin, the freedom that water provides and the opportunity to explore new places.

I certainly had been missing swimming, so you can imagine how delighted I am to be offering opportunities for open water swim experiences and world class coaching again.

We have been working hard to create 2 months of open water opportunities for you to come and get involved with. There is something for everyone - 121 sessions / Squads / Camps / Clinics and experiences in the heart of the Lake District.

We are also excited to announce Active Blu has a NEW permanent open water home base at Brathay Hall Trust. The venue is outstanding and we get to train in private grounds in a beautiful, idillic bay. Not only can we run our courses, training sessions and camps from there, you can also stay over in the accomodation, boosting some of the best views of the Lake District from in and out the water.

Therefore please feel free to come get involved, develop your swimming, confidence, learn more about your stroke, with great personal feedback, training plans and an opportunity to explore the Lake.

Emma Brunning - If you haven't been coached by Emma before, she works across the UK and World coaching athletes and Coaches. She is contracted to work for the ITU, BTF, Swim Smooth Trainer and runs Active Blu. She has devoted her life to the art of coaching and coach developments and her expertise if technical and open water skill analysis, Emma runs about 12 Video analysis sessions and week and has done for 10 years or more, so you can imagine, her ability to look at a swimmer and see patterns, know whats holding them back and then coach the swimmer in a way they can remember and embrace a new way of moving is like her 6th sense. ;)  Emma is very wholistic and not elitist although often works at the performance end of coaching. She will take into account if you are new to the open water, or if you train daily and have a high level of knowledge. She can also support you with any mobility issues, help resolve niggles/ injuries from stroke flaws and offer advise non strength and conditioning. However give her a shout if you want to talk anything through.
